Rebekah and Jamie Vardy are selling their £9.7m Quinta do Lago holiday villa amid speculation linking the move to legal fallout from the Wagatha Christie case—though insiders deny any connection.
Rebekah and Jamie Vardy have listed their luxurious £9.7 million Portuguese villa for sale, marking a major shift in their post-Wagatha lifestyle. The property, located in the elite Quinta do Lago golf resort, has long served as the couple’s private “sanctuary”.
The timing of the sale follows Rebekah’s costly defeat in the Wagatha Christie libel case, where she was ordered to pay £1.2 million of Coleen Rooney’s legal costs in addition to her own, estimated at over £2 million. While some speculate the villa sale is linked to financial fallout, a friend of the couple insisted: "They are selling... but it has nothing to do with the court case."
The sprawling four-storey property features three swimming pools, a cinema room, roof terrace, gym, sauna, steam room, and six bedrooms, perched beside the 18th green of the resort’s North golf course. A central electro-chromic glass lift connects each level, adding a futuristic touch to the design.
The villa has been managed as a luxury rental in recent years, commanding rates of up to £30,000 a week. Listed through Knight Frank, the villa has been described as a “true haven for modern living”, though some estate agents privately suggest the £9.7m asking price is on the “optimistic” side—even amid a surge in Algarve property values.
The family has weathered other challenges at the villa, including forest fires in 2022 that came dangerously close to the property. At the time, Rebekah was forced to rely on bottled water and remained anxious for her children's safety.
Meanwhile, Jamie Vardy continues to draw interest on the pitch, with rumours swirling about a potential transfer to Manchester United following a £7.3 million season at Leicester City.
The couple’s decision to part ways with their beloved villa comes as they reportedly search for a new holiday home, signalling a fresh chapter despite the lingering headlines from Rebekah’s infamous court battle with Coleen Rooney.
