Joaquin Panichelli has scored 20 goals for Mirandes this season, attracting Premier League interest as the Argentine striker fights for promotion and eyes a move to the top flight.
Joaquin Panichelli is enjoying a breakout season in La Liga 2, and his performances are turning heads across Europe. On loan at Mirandes from Alaves, the 22-year-old Argentine has netted 20 goals and provided two assists, making him one of the division’s standout players.
Panichelli’s goal-scoring form has put first division clubs on high alert. Both Chelsea and Wolverhampton have shown interest, with Chelsea reportedly considering a move that would involve sending him to their French affiliate, Strasbourg. The striker could command a fee of up to €20 million.
The former River Plate academy product joined Alaves in 2024 and was loaned to Mirandes last summer. His early-season scoring spree prompted Alaves to move quickly, extending his contract until June 2029.
Mirandes are currently pushing for promotion to La Liga, sitting fourth in the table and just a point behind second-placed Levante, who occupy the final automatic promotion spot.
Panichelli isn’t the only rising star drawing attention in Spain’s second tier. Yeremey Hernandez, also 22, has scored 14 goals this season and is emerging as another transfer target for top-flight sides.
