Atletico Madrid have contacted Juventus to assess Jonathan David's availability as Diego Simeone continues his search for another centre-forward.

Atletico Madrid have made contact with Juventus to enquire about the situation of
Jonathan David as Diego Simeone continues to push for another striker.
Despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Julian Alvarez, Atletico remain active in the market for a new No. 9 and are assessing several potential options before the transfer window closes.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish club have now approached Juventus to establish whether David could become available.
At this stage, Atletico have not submitted an offer and formal negotiations have not started.
The initial contact was designed to establish Juventus' plans for the Canada international and determine whether a transfer could be possible under the right conditions.
Juventus could listen to suitable offer
Juventus are not necessarily pushing David towards the exit, but the Turin club could reportedly consider allowing the striker to leave if they receive an attractive proposal.
That has been enough to attract Atletico's attention as sporting director Mateu Alemany continues to explore the market.
David represents another option in a striker search that has already included Nicolas Jackson.
Atletico made contact over the former Chelsea forward in recent days before subsequently turning their attention towards David's situation in Turin.
Simeone still wants another striker
Atletico's continued activity suggests Diego Simeone wants greater depth at centre-forward regardless of the speculation surrounding Julian Alvarez.
David would provide the Spanish club with another recognised central attacking option, although Atletico have yet to decide whether to turn their initial enquiry into a formal proposal.
For now, the situation remains at an exploratory stage.
