The popular Portuguese coach kicked off his Süper Lig campaign in typical Mourinho fashion. From the first whistle, the referees felt his presence, but in the end, he secured three points.
Fenerbahçe started the new Turkish league season with a victory against Adana, marking Jose Mourinho's managerial debut in the Süper Lig. The Portuguese tactician was brought in to deliver the Turkish league title, and the team was significantly strengthened during the summer transfer window. The match against Adana wasn’t easy, but Fenerbahçe managed a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Edin Džeko.
However, it wouldn’t be a typical Mourinho outing if everything went smoothly. The Portuguese manager lost his temper within the first few minutes and received a yellow card by the 20th minute.
The 61-year-old has certainly started his Turkish adventure in true Mourinho style. In just two days, Fenerbahçe faces the second leg of their Champions League qualifying match against French side Lille, who won the first leg 2-1. This time, Fenerbahçe will play host.
