After an impressive season and key contributions to Bayer Leverkusen's record-breaking unbeaten streak, Croatian defender Josip Stanišić has expressed a clear preference to stay at Leverkusen, rejecting a return to Bayern Munich.

In the thrilling climax of the Bundesliga season, Bayer Leverkusen maintained their unbeaten streak by devastating Bochum 5-0 away, marking their 50th consecutive match without defeat. Throughout these games, Leverkusen has netted a total of 141 goals. Croatian international Josip Stanišić, aged 24, was among the scorers in the 86th minute and provided an assist to Alejandro Grimaldo in the 93rd minute during this match.

Stanišić's performance this season has been remarkable, contributing four goals and six assists in 35 games for Leverkusen. His crucial goals against Borussia Dortmund and Roma in the Europa League semifinals underlined his significant role in Leverkusen's success.

Despite his success at Leverkusen, Bayern Munich, where Stanišić is on loan from, had plans to include him in their roster for the next season. However, according to Sky Germany, Stanišić has no interest in returning to Bayern.

He has initiated discussions through his manager with Bayern officials to enable his stay at Leverkusen. It now depends on whether Bayern is willing to sell a key player to a direct title rival, but given Stanišić's decision to reject the return, it raises questions about the feasibility and benefits of such a move.
