Jude Bellingham says Real Madrid’s clash with Arsenal offers the club a rare chance to make history by overcoming a three-goal Champions League deficit for the first time.

Real Madrid head into tonight’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal facing a monumental task — overturning a three-goal deficit. But for Jude Bellingham, this kind of challenge is exactly what defines the club’s DNA.

“I've seen a million videos and heard a million stories in the last week. It's all very motivating,” said the 20-year-old midfielder ahead of the game. “We have a night that is made for Real Madrid. It would be a night that would go down in history for the club, but it would also be a night that they are used to here.”

Madrid famously pulled off dramatic comebacks in recent seasons — most notably their run to the 2022 title — but they’ve never managed to overturn a three-goal deficit in the Champions League era.

The last time they came back from a similar margin was in the 1975/76 European Cup, when they erased a 1-4 first-leg loss to Derby County with a 5-1 win at the Santiago Bernabéu in front of 120,000 fans.

Bellingham sees this as a rare opportunity to break new ground in a club that has already achieved nearly everything.

“There’s almost nothing you can do at Real that this club hasn’t already done in the Champions League,” he said. “This is an opportunity to do something for the first time. That’s very important for us.”

Real Madrid will need to summon every ounce of belief, resilience, and magic to write another unforgettable chapter at the Bernabéu tonight.
