Borussia Dortmund confirmed Julian Brandt will leave after the season. The German midfielder, with more than 300 appearances, now attracts interest from Premier League clubs.
Borussia Dortmund confirmed that Julian Brandt will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing an important chapter of his career to a close.
The 29 year old attacking midfielder joined Dortmund in 2019 from Bayer Leverkusen. During his time at the Westfalenstadion, he made more than 300 appearances for the club.
Dortmund hoped to extend his contract, yet Brandt decided he wants a new challenge. Reports link the German international with several clubs from the English Premier League.
Earlier in his career, Brandt stood among the most exciting talents in German football. In 2019, he even appeared on the radar of Real Madrid before choosing the move to Dortmund.
His years in Dortmund brought moments of brilliance mixed with inconsistent periods. During strong phases, he showed the technical quality and creativity that once marked him as one of Germany’s biggest prospects.
This season, the midfielder returned to strong form. He produced 10 goals and three assists, placing him among the most productive players in the Dortmund squad.
Brandt also represented the Germany national team regularly. Since his debut in 2016, he collected 48 international appearances, with his last match coming in 2024 in the Nations League.
With the season approaching its final stretch, Dortmund supporters now prepare to say farewell to a player who spent many years in the club’s midfield.
