German coach Julian Nagelsmann has unveiled the roster for Euro 2024.
The German squad for the home European Championship is now known! Coach Julian Nagelsmann announced the names of 27 players he will be relying on. By June 7th, he must finalize the roster, cutting it down by one name.
Germany is eagerly awaiting to see who has been excluded. Notable absentees from the home Euro include Mats Hummels, Julian Brandt, Leon Goretzka, Niklas Sule, Timo Werner, Serge Gnabry, and Karim Adeyemi.
"As a coach, I have to build a team of characters who understand each other. We believe the players will fulfill their duties. Some people in the football association say that this is the best team atmosphere in recent years," said Nagelsmann.
He revealed that he spoke with Hummels and Goretzka, who are disappointed about being left out. Thomas Muller made the list, and Nagelsmann explained his decision.
"He connects everyone. He is good with all players. He is always highly motivated and hungry. He is not just a nice guy, he will not be starting matches, but he will bring quality off the bench."
Nagelsmann's goal is, of course, the trophy—the European Championship title.
"We have a good team. We played well against France. It's hard to predict how things will unfold. I've already pictured it in my head, and I believe we can win the championship."
