Jürgen Klopp slammed Liverpool fans for booing Trent Alexander-Arnold, calling the treatment of the Real Madrid-bound defender "wrong" and saying he turned off the TV in disappointment.

Jurgen Klopp has strongly criticised the Liverpool fans who booed Trent Alexander-Arnold during a recent home match, calling their behaviour "wrong" and expressing his personal disappointment over the situation.

The 25-year-old defender, who is set to leave Liverpool for Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer, was jeered when he came on as a substitute in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal earlier this month. The reaction shocked many — including Klopp, who revealed he couldn’t continue watching the game after hearing the boos.

Speaking at an LFC Foundation fundraiser, Klopp shared his honest reaction:

“I don't want to tell you what you have to think. I can tell you what you think is wrong. I don't tell you that you should not be angry or disappointed — I tell you: don’t forget. This club doesn't forget.”

He continued, “I watched the game when Trent came on and I heard the booing. I switched the television off. Honestly, I could not have been more disappointed at that moment.”

Alexander-Arnold has spent his entire professional career at Anfield and played a key role in the club’s most successful era in decades, lifting the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup.

Despite frustrations over his decision to leave, Klopp reminded fans of the bigger picture, urging them to respect the player’s legacy and commitment. The defender is expected to join Real Madrid this summer, where he would reunite with Jude Bellingham and strengthen the Spanish giants' evolving squad.

Liverpool will end their title-winning season this Sunday against Crystal Palace, with Klopp expected to attend the Premier League trophy lift. The match may also serve as Alexander-Arnold’s final appearance at Anfield in red.
