Jürgen Klopp congratulated Liverpool on their Premier League triumph and shared his excitement for the club’s future ahead of his return to Anfield next month.
Jurgen Klopp has congratulated Liverpool on winning the Premier League title and expressed excitement about the club’s future under Arne Slot.
The former Reds manager, who led the club to the league title in 2020 and the Champions League crown in 2019, posted a heartfelt message after Liverpool’s 5-1 victory over Tottenham secured the championship with four games remaining.
Klopp wrote on social media: “Super, super happy about the present, extremely positive about the future! Congratulations YNWA (You'll Never Walk Alone) Thank you Luv."
Klopp is set to return to Liverpool next month to attend the LFC Foundation's Gala Ball on May 23, just two days before Liverpool will lift the Premier League trophy at Anfield following their final match of the season against Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot, who succeeded Klopp last summer, praised his predecessor during Liverpool’s title celebrations, saying: “Why did I do that? Because of what he did before I even arrived here. That’s something not one manager had ever done before. Apart from that, he helped me even more with the team he left behind and the culture he left behind in that team.”
Slot added: “The quality the players have was obvious for everyone but the culture of hard work, the culture of not only the players but also the staff members, has been incredible. That’s one of the reasons we could achieve what we have achieved this season.”
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate revealed that Slot immediately instilled belief in the squad, telling them before the season began that they had the potential to win the league. “Just before we started the season he showed us why we didn’t win the league the year before, some details, and he said if we change that and improve on that we have a big chance to win the league. And that’s what we’ve done since the start of the season,” said Konate.
Slot and Liverpool are now aiming to cap their incredible campaign with even more success as they prepare for their final matches of the season.
