Juventus, under new coach Thiago Motta, is making significant changes by offloading eight players to balance the books and make room for new signings.
Thiago Motta, who was appointed as Juventus' new head coach less than two months ago, has begun reshaping the squad. The Brazilian-Italian manager, who impressed with his work at Bologna, signed a contract with Juventus until June 2027. His deal is worth €3.5 million per season plus bonuses that can reach up to €5 million.
Since Motta's arrival, Juventus has been active in the transfer market. The club invested heavily, paying €51 million for midfielder Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, €20 million for Khephren Thuram from Nice, and €13 million for left-back Juan Cabal from Hellas Verona. Additionally, goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio was brought in on loan for around €4.5 million, with an obligation to buy for €14.5 million next summer.
To balance the books and create space in the squad, Juventus is now offloading several players. Fabrizio Romano reports that Motta has deemed eight players surplus to requirements: Federico Chiesa, Wojciech Szczesny, Weston McKennie, Mattia De Sciglio, Arthur Melo, Filip Kostić, Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, and Daniele Rugani. These players have been instructed to find new clubs as they are no longer part of Juventus' plans.
While there are no confirmed offers yet for the discarded players, Gazzetta dello Sport indicates that Juventus is confident they will successfully offload many from the list and generate enough funds to finance further incoming transfers.
