Kerim Alajbegović, Bosnia’s top football prospect, signs a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen until 2028, cementing his place in the club’s future plans.
Kerim Alajbegović, regarded as one of the most talented footballers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, has signed a new long-term contract with Bayer Leverkusen, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2028. The 17-year-old’s new deal underscores the club’s confidence in his potential.
Already a regular in Xabi Alonso’s first-team training sessions, Alajbegović recently made his debut for Leverkusen’s senior side in a 2-0 friendly win against Oberhausen, showcasing his readiness to step up.
"I am very happy that Bayer has recognized my performances over the past few years. This new contract motivates me to keep working on myself and continue striving to make an impact in the senior team," Alajbegović said after signing.
A key player for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s youth national teams, Alajbegović captained the U17 squad and has now moved up to the U21 team, where he has already earned two appearances. His development is eagerly followed in his home country, especially since he plays as a winger and playmaker, positions in high demand for Bosnia’s senior national team.
This long-term commitment to Leverkusen is expected to provide Alajbegović with the perfect environment to refine his skills and eventually break into the first team on a permanent basis.
