Kerim Alajbegović, one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s brightest football prospects, made his first-team debut for Bayer Leverkusen at just 17 years old. The young forward came on in the 63rd minute of a 2-0 friendly victory over Oberhausen, replacing Terrier.
This milestone marks a dream come true for Alajbegović and a clear indication that Bayer Leverkusen has high hopes for him.
Alajbegović has been a consistent performer in the UEFA Youth League, impressing with his long-range goals and playmaking ability. Currently a key figure in Leverkusen’s U-19 team, he has contributed 10 goals and 7 assists in 21 matches this season. His versatility as a winger and playmaker makes him an invaluable asset, especially for Bosnia’s national teams, which lack depth in these positions.
Alajbegović has been a staple in Bosnia’s youth national teams, captaining the U-17 squad and now representing the U-21 team, for which he has already made two appearances. His development is closely followed back home, with many seeing him as a future star for the senior team.
Last season, in the U-17 Bundesliga, Alajbegović showcased his goal-scoring prowess, netting 15 goals in 33 appearances, along with one assist. His current form for Bayer’s junior teams further cements his status as a player to watch.
