Joshua Kimmich has put an end to months of uncertainty by signing a new contract with Bayern Munich, securing his stay at the club until 2029.
As Kimmich approaches his 10th anniversary with Bayern, there were genuine fears among fans that the club could lose one of its most influential players. Talks over an extension dragged on for months, with both sides standing firm in negotiations. However, an agreement has finally been reached, and Kimmich will continue to be a key figure in the squad.
After signing his new deal, Kimmich reaffirmed his commitment to the club: "At Bayern, I have the best conditions to achieve my goals. That's what I based my final decision on. I feel at home here."
The 29-year-old midfielder had been linked with several top European clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and multiple Premier League teams. However, despite the speculation, Kimmich ultimately chose to remain at the Allianz Arena, where he has been a crucial part of Bayern’s dominance.
With Kimmich’s future now secured, Bayern can focus on rebuilding their squad ahead of the upcoming seasons, knowing that one of their most important players remains committed to the club.
