Lamine Yamal, the best young player at the recently concluded Euro, is demanding a higher salary at Barcelona, reports Sport. His manager, Jorge Mendes, has requested certain adjustments to the contract, as both believe Yamal's current salary does not reflect his quality.
The brilliant footballer currently earns €32,000 per week, which amounts to an annual salary of €1.7 million under a contract that runs until 2026. In comparison, Frenkie de Jong earns €700,000 per week, or €36.4 million per season.
Mendes is thus asking Barcelona to increase Yamal's salary so that he will earn progressively more each year. It is believed that Barcelona will meet these demands, although it should be noted that there is a salary cap in La Liga.
Several stars have complained in recent seasons about missing promised money, and there have also been issues with their registration.
