Leeds United are reportedly interested in Burnley attacker Zian Flemming after the Dutch forward impressed during a difficult Premier League campaign.
Leeds United are reportedly considering a summer move for Burnley attacker Zian Flemming after the Dutch forward impressed despite his club’s difficult Premier League season.
Burnley may have suffered relegation, but Flemming emerged as one of the few bright spots in the squad.
The 27-year-old scored 11 goals in all competitions, including 10 in the Premier League, despite playing for a side expected to finish either 19th or 20th.
Only Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with 14 goals, scored more among attackers representing newly-promoted clubs this season.
Flemming already showed strong form last year under Scott Parker, producing 14 goals and four assists in 37 matches. This season’s return arguably looks even more impressive considering Burnley’s struggles.
Reports in England claim Leeds are now monitoring the striker ahead of the summer transfer window.
A Burnley supporter speaking to Football League World admitted a move to Elland Road could make perfect sense for the Dutchman.
"To score 10 Premier League goals in that side, a side so poor, it does seem inevitable that he's going to go."
"If a team like Leeds come in, obviously known for their physicality, and that's what Flemming is known for as well, it would probably be too hard to turn down."
The supporter also suggested Flemming’s style suits English football more naturally than a move abroad.
"A move abroad probably wouldn't suit him as much as Flemming clearly likes a physical battle."
Leeds are expected to strengthen their attack this summer, especially to reduce pressure on Calvert-Lewin, but questions remain about whether Flemming represents the right level for a major Premier League project.
Burnley are reportedly expected to demand somewhere between £15 million and £25 million, a significant fee for a player who turns 28 in August.
While Flemming’s versatility and physical profile make him attractive, critics argue Leeds may need more explosive and transformative attacking signings if they want to establish themselves comfortably in the Premier League.
The Dutch forward’s strongest role is arguably behind the striker rather than leading the line alone, and some clubs may hesitate before making such a large investment without guaranteed resale value.
Still, after the season he delivered at Burnley, interest in Flemming is unlikely to disappear anytime soon.
