Jaka Bijol has officially signed for Leeds United from Udinese in a €21 million deal, making him the second most expensive Slovenian footballer in history behind Benjamin Šeško.

Jaka Bijol has completed a dream move to the Premier League, officially joining Leeds United in a landmark transfer from Udinese worth €21 million.

The 25-year-old Slovenian international has signed a five-year contract with Leeds, keeping him at Elland Road until 2030. The deal makes Bijol the second most expensive Slovenian transfer of all time, surpassed only by Benjamin Šeško’s €24 million move from Salzburg to RB Leipzig.

Bijol, a central defender known for his composure and aerial dominance, began his career at Rudar Velenje before moving abroad to join CSKA Moscow. He later established himself in Serie A with Udinese and has become a regular fixture in the Slovenian national team.

Leeds United highlighted his international experience and growing reputation in their official announcement, noting that multiple clubs were in the race to sign him. In the end, it was Leeds who secured the highly sought-after defender as their second signing of the summer.

The move fulfills Bijol’s long-standing ambition to play in the Premier League and gives Leeds a proven, experienced addition to bolster their defensive line ahead of the new campaign.
