RB Leipzig director Marcel Schafer affirms Marco Rose's position as head coach, emphasizing faith in the team despite recent struggles in the Champions League and Bundesliga.
RB Leipzig has dismissed speculation about the future of head coach Marco Rose, with club director Marcel Schafer assuring fans that Rose retains the full confidence of the club's leadership. Despite a disappointing run of form—five consecutive matches without a win across all competitions, including five Champions League losses—Leipzig insists a managerial change is not on the table.
Rumors in German media suggested that Rose’s job could be at risk if Leipzig fails to secure a result in their upcoming Bundesliga clash against Wolfsburg, but Schafer firmly quelled such concerns.
I have full confidence in Marco Rose’s coaching staff and our team. I’ve said this several times in recent weeks. Of course, we are aware that we desperately need success and that we must turn things around quickly. At RB, everything is geared toward achieving success," Schafer stated.
Schafer also touched on the imminent arrival of Jürgen Klopp, who will serve in an advisory role within the broader Red Bull football network.
"Klopp will support us, offer guidance, and we can only benefit from his vast experience. This is a huge achievement by Oliver Mintzlaff. Klopp has incredible energy and passion, though I’m curious to see how he channels it off the pitch," Schafer added.
Leipzig remains confident in Rose’s ability to steer the club back on track, with the upcoming Bundesliga fixtures being seen as a crucial opportunity to regain momentum.
