Leo Messi, who rested for Inter Miami's MLS clash with Dallas, attended the match with his wife Antonela and their children, cheering from the VIP stands.
Leo Messi enjoyed a rare break from action last weekend, as the Inter Miami star was rested for the MLS match against FC Dallas. Instead of taking the pitch, Messi spent a family day at Chase Stadium, supporting his teammates from the VIP stands.
His wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, shared heartwarming photos from their day on Instagram. One image shows Messi posing with Antonela and their son Mateo, who proudly wore a pink Inter Miami jersey. Another captured their younger son Ciro enjoying a slice of pizza, also dressed in club colors.
Drama without Messi:
On the field, it was a rollercoaster match. Inter Miami stormed into a 3-1 lead but ultimately fell to a dramatic 4-3 defeat, conceding a late winning goal. The absence of Messi — and his close friend Luis Suárez, who was also rested — was clearly felt.
Focus shifts to Champions Cup:
Head coach Javier Mascherano decided to give the veterans a break ahead of a crucial second leg in the Champions Cup semifinal against the Vancouver Whitecaps on May 1. Inter Miami faces a tough task, needing to overturn a 2-0 deficit from the first leg to keep their continental dreams alive.
Even off the pitch, Messi continues to inspire — both his teammates and the packed stands of Inter Miami's growing fanbase.
