Chelsea launched an internal investigation after their Champions League starting lineup leaked online eight hours before the PSG clash in Paris.
Chelsea face a new problem after their Champions League defeat against Paris Saint-Germain, as the club investigates how their starting lineup leaked hours before the match.
The London side lost 5-2 at the Parc des Princes. Yet another issue surfaced before kick-off. The full Chelsea starting eleven appeared online nearly eight hours before the game.
French journalist Fabrice Hawkins published the lineup on social media long before the official announcement, raising questions inside the club.
Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior confirmed he will launch an internal investigation to find the source of the leak.
"I didn't know the starting lineup had appeared online. I'm confident we will find out how it happened. This kind of information spreads more often today, and clubs receive a lot of data about opponents. As a coach, I focus more on how the match ended for us," Rosenior said.
The situation brings back memories from another club. When Alejandro Garnacho still played for Manchester United, similar leaks reportedly appeared around the team.
Ironically, Garnacho did not start in Paris. Rosenior introduced him only in the 88th minute, when PSG already controlled the match and later extended the lead through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Chelsea now face a demanding schedule. Newcastle United visit Stamford Bridge this weekend, followed by the Champions League return leg against PSG.
Inside the club, one question remains urgent: who revealed the lineup before the biggest match of the week?
