Olympique de Marseille have set their sights on Feyenoord's prolific forward Santiago Giménez as they look to strengthen their attacking options, according to reports from Foot Mercato and RMC Sport.

With summer signing Elye Wahi reportedly close to an exit after just six months at the club, Marseille are actively exploring options to bolster their frontline. The French side had previously been linked with potential loan moves for Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, but Giménez has now emerged as a serious alternative.

Since joining Feyenoord from Cruz Azul in 2022, the 23-year-old Mexican striker has flourished in the Eredivisie, netting 13 goals in 17 appearances this season. His consistent performances have caught the attention of several European clubs, but Marseille are keen to secure his services to boost their firepower in the second half of the season.

Financial hurdles in the pursuit of Giménez

While Marseille’s interest is firm, completing a deal for Giménez in the current transfer window could prove challenging. Feyenoord have reportedly placed a valuation of over €40 million on their star forward, raising questions over whether the French side have the financial muscle to finalize the move.

With the club already investing heavily in Wahi last summer—spending €30 million including bonuses—any pursuit of Giménez would likely require significant financial maneuvering or the potential sale of assets.
