Argentina produced one of the greatest comebacks in World Cup history, and head coach Lionel Scaloni struggled to contain his emotions after watching his players overturn a two-goal deficit against Egypt.
The reigning world champions trailed 2-0 until the 79th minute before an astonishing late surge secured a dramatic 3-2 victory and a place in the quarter-finals.
When the final whistle blew in Atlanta, Scaloni appeared overwhelmed. Fighting back tears, he admitted he could barely find the words to describe what he had just witnessed.
"What a team! I have no words. Right now, I can't say anything else," the Argentina coach said shortly after the match.
The unforgettable comeback also added another remarkable chapter to Lionel Messi's extraordinary World Cup story.
The Argentina captain endured a rollercoaster evening. Early in the match, he became the first player in World Cup history to miss two penalties in a single tournament after failing to convert from the spot against Egypt.

Argentina looked beaten for almost 80 minutes, but the combination of resilience, belief and Messi's brilliance turned despair into jubilation in one unforgettable night.
