Liverpool is in talks to sign Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City, while also targeting Benjamin Šešek as part of their summer rebuild.
It could be one of the biggest transfer shocks of the summer—Kevin De Bruyne to Liverpool is no longer just a rumor. According to top Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the newly crowned Premier League champions are in contact with the Belgian playmaker's representatives about a stunning move to Anfield.
After nearly a decade of dominance with Manchester City, De Bruyne is set to leave the club at the end of the season. While he has been linked with Saudi Arabia and MLS, the 33-year-old hinted that he still craves top-level football—keeping the Premier League firmly in play.
Liverpool, who are set for a tactical evolution under incoming manager Arne Slot, could now offer De Bruyne the perfect final chapter. A known Liverpool fan in his youth, De Bruyne may be tempted by the idea of ending his Premier League journey on Merseyside instead of abroad.
But that’s not all. The story also connects directly with another major name on Liverpool’s radar—Benjamin Šešek.
While Arsenal are currently viewed as favourites to land the RB Leipzig striker, Liverpool are firmly in the race. The 20-year-old Slovenian has been one of the Bundesliga’s standout forwards this season, and adding him alongside a potential De Bruyne signing could transform Liverpool's attack for 2025.
Napoli have also reportedly submitted an offer for De Bruyne, but Di Marzio claims that Liverpool’s ambition and prestige could prove more appealing to the Belgian veteran.
If both moves go through, Liverpool’s 2025/26 squad could feature Kevin De Bruyne supplying Benjamin Šešek—a combination that would electrify Anfield and send a message across Europe.
