Liverpool continues to build its future squad from the Bundesliga, and the next major name on its list is Hugo Ekitike, the in-form striker from Eintracht Frankfurt.
According to Sky Germany, the Reds are seriously interested in signing the Frenchman after his impressive season in Germany.
Ekitike, who joined Eintracht from Paris Saint-Germain, scored 22 goals in 48 appearances this season across all competitions. His explosive rise has caught the attention of Arne Slot and Michael Edwards, who are reportedly leading Liverpool’s transfer activity this summer.
Eintracht is in no rush to sell, and sporting director Markus Krosche has made it clear that the 21-year-old will only be allowed to leave for a fee of at least €100 million. While Ekitike’s market value currently stands at around €55 million, Eintracht is determined to hold out for a premium fee.
The Reds are also pursuing Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong from Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, with Frimpong already in England for a medical and expected to sign soon.
Liverpool faces competition from Chelsea, who have also expressed interest in Ekitike, as both English clubs look to bolster their attacking options for the upcoming campaign.
