Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is reportedly interested in Almería star Sergio Arribas, with Real Madrid set to benefit financially from any transfer.

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola is continuing to shape his squad for the new season, and one of the latest names linked with a move to Anfield is Almería playmaker Sergio Arribas.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder came through the Real Madrid academy before leaving the Spanish giants for Almería in 2023 in search of regular first-team football. The decision has paid off, with Arribas establishing himself as one of the standout performers in La Liga 2.
One of the division's brightest talents
Despite playing in Spain's second tier, Arribas has attracted significant interest from clubs across Europe. He is currently valued at around €20 million, an impressive figure for a player outside the top flight.
The Spaniard has enjoyed an outstanding spell at Almería, contributing 33 goals and 10 assists in 83 league appearances. Comfortable as an attacking midfielder or on either wing, Arribas has become the creative heartbeat of the team.
Liverpool among several admirers
Liverpool are not alone in monitoring the Spanish playmaker. Benfica, Ajax and several other European clubs have also been linked with Arribas, while Real Madrid continue to watch his progress closely.
The Spanish giants inserted a clause into the deal that took Arribas to Almería, meaning they would reportedly receive around 50 percent of any future transfer fee.
Almería in a strong negotiating position
Almería are under no immediate pressure to sell. Arribas remains under contract until the summer of 2029, giving the club considerable leverage in any negotiations.
The Andalusian side had hoped to secure an immediate return to La Liga after investing more than €20 million in new players over the past two years. Instead, their promotion dream ended in the playoffs with a disappointing defeat to local rivals Málaga.
Whether Liverpool decide to make a formal move remains to be seen, but Arribas is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after talents outside Spain's top division, and another step towards elite European football could soon await the former Real Madrid prospect.
