Luis Enrique praised Carlo Ancelotti's move to Brazil but said he won’t cheer too hard for the Seleção, joking that his support remains with Spain.

Luis Enrique, manager of Paris Saint-Germain, took a moment to reflect on Carlo Ancelotti’s upcoming role as Brazil's national team coach, offering praise for the Italian legend while also playfully tempering expectations.

“I don’t think there’s another coach with Ancelotti’s track record of titles. He’s a gentleman on and off the pitch,” said Luis Enrique in a relaxed press conference ahead of PSG’s final Ligue 1 fixture of the season.

That said, the Spaniard—who previously led La Roja—made it clear where his footballing heart lies. “I won’t wish Brazil too much success, because obviously I want my national team to be the one succeeding,” he added with a smile.

Ancelotti is set to take over Seleção Brasileira at the end of May, after finishing the season with Real Madrid. The move is seen as one of the most high-profile managerial appointments in international football in recent years.

Luis Enrique was supportive of the idea, saying: “It’s wonderful to see a very successful Italian coach take over a legendary team like Brazil. I’m sure the combination will be a very positive one.”

PSG, meanwhile, are on the verge of completing a memorable season. Having long wrapped up Ligue 1, they now face Inter Milan in the Champions League final, with the opportunity to crown Luis Enrique’s first season in Paris with European glory.

As for Ancelotti, the football world will be watching closely as he begins his Brazilian chapter—though he might not count Luis Enrique among his most vocal cheerleaders when facing Spain.
