Luka Ivanušec is returning to Dinamo Zagreb after agreeing to terminate his Feyenoord contract, with a medical and three-year deal awaiting him in Zagreb.

Luka Ivanušec is set to return to
Dinamo Zagreb three years after leaving the Croatian champions for Feyenoord.
The 27-year-old Croatia international has agreed to terminate his contract with the Dutch club and will consequently be able to join Dinamo as a free agent.
Ivanušec is due to arrive in Zagreb today and is expected to undergo his medical either later in the day or on Monday morning before completing the move.
According to information from Croatia, Ivanušec has already agreed a three-year contract with Dinamo, with an option to extend the deal for another season.
Provided there are no problems during his medical, his return to Maksimir should therefore be completed quickly.
Feyenoord spell ends after three years
Ivanušec left Dinamo for Feyenoord in August 2023 after a series of impressive performances for the Zagreb club.
The move to Rotterdam was supposed to represent the next major step in his career, but the Croatian never established himself as one of Feyenoord's key players.
His situation eventually led to a loan move to PAOK last season.
The Greek club had an option to make the transfer permanent but decided against activating it, sending Ivanušec back to the Netherlands this summer.
His prospects at Feyenoord did not improve upon his return.
Ivanušec was left out of the squad for the first three league matches of the new season, making it increasingly clear that he was no longer part of the club's plans.
Feyenoord subsequently opened negotiations with the player over the mutual termination of his contract, clearing the way for his return to Croatia.
Back to the club where he played his best football
Ivanušec initially joined Dinamo from Lokomotiva in 2019 and developed into one of the Zagreb club's most important attacking players.
During four seasons at Maksimir, he won domestic titles and accumulated considerable European experience in both the Champions League and Europa League.
His performances in Europe were particularly important in building the reputation that eventually earned him the move to Feyenoord.
Three years later, Ivanušec is now set to return to the environment where he produced arguably the best football of his career.
Dinamo will also be getting a player who already knows the club, Croatian football and the demands that come with playing at Maksimir.
Dinamo add experience and versatility
Ivanušec's versatility could make him particularly valuable.
The Croatian can operate in several attacking midfield positions as well as on the wing, giving Dinamo additional options during a demanding domestic and European schedule.
He also returns with more experience from spells in the Netherlands and Greece, even though neither period ultimately developed as he had hoped.
For Ivanušec, returning to Dinamo offers an opportunity to rebuild momentum and potentially strengthen his position with the Croatia national team.
The final obstacle is now his medical.
If everything goes according to plan, Ivanušec will sign his new contract and officially become a Dinamo player again, three years after leaving Maksimir for Rotterdam.
