Real Sociedad’s Luka Sučić has won the La Liga Goal of the Season award after his spectacular strike against Atlético Madrid secured a 1-1 draw earlier in the campaign.
Croatian midfielder Luka Sučić has capped off an excellent debut season in Spain by winning the La Liga Goal of the Season award for his stunning goal against Atletico Madrid.
The 22-year-old Real Sociedad star fired a long-range rocket into the top corner during a crucial league clash, earning his team a valuable 1-1 draw. The goal has now been officially recognized as the best in Spain’s top flight this season.
Sučić arrived in San Sebastián last summer from RB Salzburg for a reported fee of €10 million and quickly became a key figure, making close to 40 appearances across La Liga, the Europa League, and the Copa del Rey.
The Croatian international is part of a talented football family. His cousin, Petar Sučić, 21, recently signed with Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb in a €14 million move and is also a rising member of the Croatian national team setup.
Interestingly, Luka was born in Linz, Austria, while Petar hails from Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Petar previously represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at youth levels before switching allegiance to Croatia.
Luka’s standout goal and strong first season have now firmly placed him among the brightest young talents in European football, with even bigger things expected in the years ahead.
