At just 19, Marcel Ratnik has become a key player for Olimpija, not only excelling in defense but also proving to be a prolific scorer, ranking as the top goal-scoring defender in Slovenia's first league.

Marcel Ratnik, at the young age of 19, has firmly established himself in Olimpija's starting lineup, emerging as one of the team's leaders and even enjoying the privilege of wearing the captain's armband. Apart from his defensive prowess, he has also distinguished himself as an exceptional goal-scorer, adept at finding the net in various ways.

In the Slovenian national championship, Ratnik has scored goals in spectacular fashion, such as in the match against Domžale, and most recently, he scored in a defender's style from a corner kick, marking his fourth league goal of the season.

Approaching his 20th birthday in two weeks, Ratnik is currently tied for third place on the internal top scorers' list with Mustafa Nukić. Only Rui Pedro, the league's top scorer with 10 goals, and Nemanja Motika, who scored his fifth goal of the season against Koper today, have scored more.

No other defender in the Slovenian national championship has scored more than two goals this season. Following Ratnik are the Celje trio of Žan Karničnik, David Zec, and Damjan Vuklišević, with Gašper Jovan from Aluminij and Jan Đapo from Domžale each scoring two goals.

Ratnik's scoring ability, especially as a defender, makes him a standout player in the league and a crucial asset for Olimpija.
