Alexis Mac Allister has revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold is in negotiations over a new contract with Liverpool, alongside ongoing talks with Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Speaking to AS, the midfielder emphasized the importance of retaining the club's key players as part of their long-term plans.

TAA’s Crucial Role

Mac Allister underscored Alexander-Arnold's significance, referencing his impact during the recent match against Manchester City:

"TAA is crucial as we saw against Manchester City when he came back from injury. Like Salah, he is in negotiations and hopefully, he can continue in the team."

A cornerstone of the team since emerging from the club's academy, Alexander-Arnold’s current contract runs until 2025. Liverpool are eager to secure the 25-year-old’s services for the long term as they build for the future.

Salah and Van Dijk Talks

Mac Allister also expressed optimism about retaining Salah and Van Dijk, stating: "Hopefully Trent and Virgil can continue with us along with Salah."

Both players remain pivotal to Liverpool’s ambitions. Salah has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but Liverpool are determined to keep their Egyptian talisman. Meanwhile, Van Dijk, now captain, is integral to coach Arne Slot’s squad rebuild.

Strengthening Liverpool’s Core

Liverpool's focus on renewing contracts for Alexander-Arnold, Salah, and Van Dijk signals their intent to maintain a strong core of experienced players. With these three stars at the heart of the team, the Reds aim to remain competitive at the highest level while blending in younger talent.

Negotiations are ongoing, and the club hopes to finalize deals in the coming weeks, ensuring the trio stays at Anfield for years to come.
