Manchester City has emerged as the favourite to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson in a deal valued at around £120 million.

Elliot Anderson has become one of the hottest names ahead of the summer transfer window, and Manchester City currently appears to be leading the race.
The Nottingham Forest midfielder is attracting serious interest after another impressive campaign, with reports suggesting the club values him at around £120 million.
According to reports in England, Anderson is leaning toward a move to City rather than local rivals Manchester United if he leaves the City Ground.
The 23-year-old established himself as one of the most influential midfielders in the league through his energy, intensity and ability to impact games in both directions.
Despite growing interest, no agreement has been reached and negotiations remain at an early stage.
City reportedly remains interested even while uncertainty continues around the managerial situation following the end of Pep Guardiola’s period in charge.
Manchester United, meanwhile, is said to be reluctant to enter an aggressive bidding battle.
Anderson joined Nottingham Forest from his boyhood club Newcastle United in 2024 for around £35 million and his value has risen dramatically since then.
A strong showing at the upcoming World Cup would only increase interest and potentially push the price even higher.
Forest is also facing questions around the future of Morgan Gibbs-White, but manager Vitor Pereira has made his position clear.
"If we want to compete for different goals, we need to keep the best players."
"If you change every season, it becomes difficult to build something stronger."
Before Forest’s recent meeting with United, former midfielder Michael Carrick also praised Anderson’s impact.
"He offers so much. He's a big part of their team, and you can see how important he is."
Forest wants to resist offers, but interest is growing, and Anderson’s future is becoming one of the biggest stories of the summer.
