Manchester City have signed 18-year-old Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg for €15 million, with plans to send him on loan before he joins Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Manchester City have secured the transfer of Sverre Nypan, a highly rated Norwegian central midfielder, from Rosenborg for a reported fee of €15 million, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The deal includes a personal agreement with the player, finalising plans that had been in motion since January.
Despite signing a long-term deal with City, the plan is for Nypan to go out on loan immediately, allowing him to gain experience before competing for a place in Pep Guardiola’s squad. The club views the move as a long-term investment in one of Europe’s top emerging talents.
Nypan made headlines when he debuted for Rosenborg’s senior team at just 15 years old, highlighting his maturity and technical ability far beyond his age. So far this season, he has made 10 appearances and scored once across all competitions.
The midfielder has already represented Norway at all youth levels and currently plays for the U21 national team, with many expecting him to receive a senior call-up in the near future.
