That is why the club reportedly sees Silva as an ideal candidate.
At 31, Bernardo brings experience, versatility, and years of competing at the highest level.
Since arriving at City in 2017, he has become one of Pep Guardiola’s most trusted players.
During his time in England, Silva helped City win six Premier League titles, the Champions League and numerous domestic trophies.
His numbers underline his influence.
In 459 appearances for Manchester City, he produced 77 goals and 76 assists, showing his ability to combine creativity with direct attacking output.
But Atletico will not have a free path.
Reports suggest that Barcelona, Chelsea, Milan and Juventus are also monitoring the Portuguese star.
