Sky Sport reports that Porto, Manchester United, and Chelsea are closely monitoring Red Bull Salzburg’s 18-year-old Bosnian international Kerim Alajbegović.

A new Bosnian star could soon make a big move in European football. According to Sky Sport journalist Ben Heckner, Porto, Manchester United, and Chelsea are all closely monitoring Kerim Alajbegović, the 18-year-old Bosnia and Herzegovina international currently shining at Red Bull Salzburg.

Alajbegović recently made headlines by becoming the youngest goalscorer in Bosnia’s national team history, finding the net in a 6–0 win over San Marino during the European qualifiers. His rapid rise has made him one of the most exciting Balkan prospects of his generation.

Salzburg’s next export

At club level, Alajbegović has enjoyed a breakthrough season with Red Bull Salzburg, scoring four goals and providing one assist so far in 2025. His performances have drawn attention from scouts across Europe, particularly from clubs known for nurturing young talent.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea have intensified their scouting presence in Austria, while Porto, famous for developing and selling top young players, are also reportedly considering a move.

Born in Cologne in 2007, Alajbegović plays primarily as an attacking winger, known for his speed, composure, and direct style — traits that have made him a perfect fit in Salzburg’s high-pressing system.

Rising star for Bosnia

Having already made his senior international debut, the teenager is expected to be a starter in Bosnia’s November qualifiers against Romania and Austria, as national coach Sergej Barbarez looks to inject more youth and energy into the squad.

Alajbegović’s future looks increasingly bright, and if his progress continues, a major transfer could come sooner rather than later — following in the footsteps of Salzburg alumni like Erling Haaland, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Karim Adeyemi.
