Casemiro officially said goodbye to Old Trafford today as the Brazilian midfielder played his final home match for Manchester United.
Emotional scenes followed throughout the afternoon as supporters paid tribute to one of the club’s most respected players of recent years.
The former Real Madrid star arrived in England late in his career but quickly became a fan favorite because of his leadership, experience, and fighting mentality.
During his time at Manchester United, Casemiro made 160 appearances, scoring 26 goals and contributing 14 assists.
Even during difficult seasons for the club, he regularly remained among the team’s strongest performers.
The midfielder experienced a complicated period under former coach Ruben Amorim, whose demanding tactical system exposed the physical limitations of an aging midfield.
At 34 years old, Casemiro no longer perfectly matched the intensity Amorim wanted from his central players.
Everything changed after the arrival of Michael Carrick.
Under the new manager, the Brazilian rediscovered his rhythm and once again became an influential figure in United’s midfield.
Supporters hoped Casemiro would reconsider his decision and extend his stay for another season, but the veteran has already chosen to move on.
