Manchester United beat Nottingham Forest in a thrilling Old Trafford finale as Bruno Fernandes matched a historic assist record and Casemiro played his final home game.
Manchester United gave supporters at Old Trafford an emotional and entertaining final home match of the season with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest.
The match delivered five goals, record-breaking moments, and an emotional farewell for one of the club’s most experienced players.
Luke Shaw, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo scored for United, while Morato and Morgan Gibbs-White found the net for Forest.
Slovenian striker Benjamin Šeško remained unavailable because of injury and did not feature in the squad.
The afternoon also marked the final appearance at Old Trafford for veteran midfielder Casemiro.
The Brazilian, who previously enjoyed enormous success with Real Madrid, played until the 80th minute before receiving an emotional reaction from supporters.
Fans inside the stadium loudly urged the midfielder to stay for another season, but Casemiro has already decided he will leave the club this summer.
Meanwhile, captain Bruno Fernandes added another major achievement to his impressive Manchester United career.
The Portuguese playmaker provided the assist for Mbeumo’s goal, taking his total to 20 assists in the current Premier League season.
That number equals the all-time Premier League record previously achieved by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
Fernandes still has one final opportunity to break the record outright when United face Brighton away in the last round of the season.
Nottingham Forest will meanwhile close their campaign at home against Bournemouth.
