Trabzonspor have contacted free agent Marcelo Brozović over a return to Europe, but the former Inter midfielder reportedly prefers to continue his career in Italy.

Marcelo Brozović could return to European football after three years in Saudi Arabia, with
Trabzonspor making contact over a potential free transfer.
According to Italian transfer reporter Nicolò Schira, the Turkish club are interested in signing the former Croatia international and have already approached him.
Brozović reportedly has a different priority and would prefer to return to Italy, where he enjoyed the most successful period of his club career with Inter.
Brozović available on a free transfer
The 33-year-old has been a free agent since the beginning of July following the expiration of his contract with Al Nassr. The Saudi club decided against offering him a new deal, meaning Brozović can join his next club without a transfer fee.
Transfermarkt currently values the experienced midfielder at €8 million, making his availability particularly attractive for clubs seeking an experienced midfield option. Trabzonspor have now made the first concrete move towards bringing him back to Europe.
Juventus already offered chance to sign Brozović
A potential Italian return was first discussed in mid-August. Reports in Italy claimed Brozović had been offered to Juventus, with his representatives contacting the Turin club to discuss the possibility of signing him as a free agent. No agreement followed, but the approach underlined Brozović's desire to continue his career in a league he knows extremely well.
His reputation in Italy was built during a hugely successful spell with Inter. Brozović made 330 appearances for the Nerazzurri, scoring 31 goals and providing 43 assists. He won five trophies with the club, including the Serie A title and two Coppa Italia trophies. His final season in Milan also ended with an appearance in the 2023 Champions League final.
Three years alongside Cristiano Ronaldo
Brozović left Inter in the summer of 2023 when Al Nassr paid €15.7m for his services. The move took him to Saudi Arabia and placed him in the same team as Cristiano Ronaldo. Over three seasons, Brozović made 124 appearances for Al Nassr, scoring eight goals and registering 23 assists.
Trabzonspor have positioned themselves as a potential destination, but Brozović's preference for Italy could prove decisive. At 33 and available without a transfer fee, the former Inter midfielder represents an experienced option for clubs looking to strengthen after the end of the main transfer window.
