Hajduk’s training camp at Lake Bled disrupted by an alleged altercation. Star player Marko Livaja is accused of punching a security guard. Police are investigating.

What began as a peaceful pre-season training camp for Hajduk Split in Slovenia has taken a controversial turn. According to Slovenian outlet 24ur.com, an incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday morning involving several Hajduk players and local security staff near Lake Bled.

The report states that around 1:00 AM, a verbal altercation broke out between three security guards and about 15 members of the Croatian club, as they were leaving a lakeside bar near their hotel. The security guards were reportedly hired by the municipality of Bled due to previous incidents involving damage to property around the lake.

Witnesses, including a local waiter, confirmed that Hajduk players had been at the bar, and tensions escalated as they were leaving. Security personnel allegedly warned the group for disturbing the peace, after which the situation became physical. The report specifically accuses Marko Livaja, Hajduk’s star forward, of punching a security guard in the face, allegedly breaking one of his teeth.

The security firm has confirmed its intent to file criminal charges, while Hajduk strongly denies any physical confrontation took place. The club claims the security guards acted unprofessionally and aggressively, approaching the players over loud music that had already been turned off. Hajduk insists the situation remained strictly verbal, and that the players were not at fault.

The police have launched an investigation, while both sides are preparing legal action — Hajduk against the security company, and the guards through a criminal complaint.

The incident, which has already made headlines in both Slovenia and Croatia, is casting a shadow over Hajduk’s preparations for the upcoming season. Whether Livaja will face legal or disciplinary consequences remains to be seen, but the controversy is far from over.
