Marko Nikolić, head coach of CSKA Moscow, expressed his desire to one day lead Serbia's national team. Currently, he's focused on his role at CSKA.

Marko Nikolić, the head coach of CSKA Moscow, has expressed hope that he will one day take the helm of the Serbian national team.

"We have a quality team, but I am not the coach of Serbia. I hope it will happen someday, but for now, I am with CSKA. It's a pity, I support my team," stated the former Partizan coach, who served two terms, in an interview with Russian "Championat".

Nikolić signed a two-season contract with the "Armejci" on June 6. He succeeded Vladimir Fedotov as the head coach of the Moscow club. This isn't the Serbian coach's first stint in Russia, as he led Lokomotiv Moscow in the 2020/21 season when they won the Russian Cup.

In the "Brotherhood Cup" match on Thursday, CSKA convincingly triumphed over OFK Beograd 4-0. Serbian defender Milan Gajić scored the first goal, and Miloš Krasić also took to the field in Moscow. The friendly tournament also features Partizan and Dynamo Moscow, with the black and whites defeating the home team after a better penalty shootout.
