Maya Jama opened up about life after her breakup with Ruben Dias, while the Portugal defender pushed back strongly against rumors surrounding their separation.

Maya Jama has publicly addressed her breakup with Manchester City defender Ruben Dias for the first time, ending weeks of speculation surrounding one of football and entertainment’s most talked-about relationships.
The pair reportedly ended their relationship in April after around 18 months together, although public discussion surrounding the split has continued long after their separation.
"I will love loudly or not at all"
Responding to online discussions about her personal life, the Love Island host explained why outside opinions do not influence her relationships.
"Truth is even when I tried to keep my relationships private we get photographed anyway."
"I'm an all or nothing girl, I don't casually date, so yes I will love loudly or not at all, and if it ends it ends."
"I decided a long time ago not to base personal life decisions on public opinions."
The presenter also appeared to hint at moving forward by posting a video featuring herself singing about " changes."
Dias responds after family became involved
While Jama focused on her outlook, Dias chose to directly address rumors that claimed he had been unfaithful during the relationship.
The defender explained that repeated reports had begun affecting people close to him.
"I feel that when my 85-year-old grandfather is asking me if I've cheated on my girlfriend because he's seen it repeatedly on the news, that's where I draw the line on what's acceptable and what's not."
Dias insisted their relationship remained respectful throughout.
"Maya and I have always had a relationship built on mutual respect. No line was ever crossed in that regard."
Social media rumors added fuel
Reports surrounding Dias’ social media activity intensified attention during the final months of the relationship.
Claims emerged that the defender used a practice described online as "toe-dipping", where users allegedly follow and unfollow people to test reactions or interest.
Reports linked him to model Catarina Duraes and another woman named Claire.
However, no evidence of physical infidelity has surfaced publicly.
Dias strongly rejected many of the claims.
"I've always chosen to remain silent on these matters as my personal life is my business only."
"But I also believe it's wrong to lie to people and to portray an opposite image of someone just for clickbait."
World Cup focus begins
With personal matters dominating headlines, Dias now turns attention back toward football.
The Portugal national team defender is preparing for the 2026 World Cup, where Portugal will face DR Congo, Uzbekistan, and Colombia in the group stage.
For both Jama and Dias, the relationship chapter appears closed. Public interest, though, shows little sign of slowing down.
