Maya Jama confirmed her relationship with Ruben Dias via Instagram, then hit back at paparazzi intrusion, calling out the pressure and chaos following their low-key romance reveal.
Maya Jama has had enough of the paparazzi chaos after seemingly confirming her romance with Manchester City defender Ruben Dias in a candid Instagram Story posted on May 13.
The Love Island UK host, 30, shared a lighthearted video showing Dias beside her in the back of a car, revealing they were being followed by paparazzi. “We’re currently being followed by a van of paps,” she told her followers, describing the scene outside the restaurant they had just exited. “They were spread across the road and we got straight in the car so they didn't get us.”
Clearly frustrated, Jama added: “I'm in half a mind to just give them a f***ing show, and the other half is hide.”
The couple has been spotted together several times recently, including affectionate moments at KSI’s Baller League event in East London. According to reports, they met at the MTV Europe Music Awards in November 2024 and have been dating privately since then.
The Instagram post sparked immediate media and fan reaction, prompting Jama to respond in a now-deleted Story. As reported by LAD Bible, she wrote: “God forbid a girl try beat the paps to it. My bad though I actually forgot social media is not a reasonable place.”
Jama’s blossoming relationship with Dias follows her high-profile on-and-off relationship with British rapper Stormzy, which officially ended in July 2024 after a brief 2023 reunion. This new chapter seems to be getting serious, with Jama reportedly receiving a Cartier bracelet from Dias and even learning Portuguese to strengthen their connection.
While the pair have yet to post an official “couple photo,” the signs of a deepening romance—and growing public interest—are clearly in play.
