Kylian Mbappe will miss just one La Liga match after his red card against Alaves, meaning he will be available for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.

Kylian Mbappe has received a one-match ban following his red card against Alaves, and will be available for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona. The news was reported by Arancha Rodriguez of COPE, who closely follows Real Madrid.

The French forward was sent off for a rough tackle on Antonio Blanco during Madrid's narrow 1-0 win at Mendizorroza. Fears had spread among fans that Mbappe could receive a suspension of up to four games, which would have made him unavailable for the cup final.

Fortunately for Los Blancos, the Competition Committee reportedly confirmed that the red card would result in a single-game suspension, which Mbappe will serve during the upcoming La Liga fixture against Athletic Bilbao.

The referee Soto Grado helped spare the Frenchman from further punishment by stating in his match report that the challenge occurred "in the dispute of the ball". This placed the tackle in the same category as the one committed by Manu Sanchez, who was also sent off in the same match but received identical treatment.

Mbappe, who apologised to both his teammates and Blanco after the match, is now fully focused on the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal, where Real Madrid aim to overturn a 3-0 deficit.
