Kylian Mbappé travelled to Paris for further medical checks amid ongoing knee problems, raising fresh concerns over Real Madrid’s medical setup during a decisive phase of the season.
Real Madrid face mounting concerns over their medical situation as Kylian Mbappé searches for answers away from Spain.
The French forward has struggled with knee pain for nearly three months. With discomfort increasing and training sessions missed, he travelled to Paris for additional examinations.
Mbappé also missed the Champions League return leg against Benfica, adding to worries at a critical stage of the campaign.
Questions about Madrid’s medical department have surfaced repeatedly over the past year. Critics point to outdated methods and resistance to modernization. So far, club president Florentino Pérez has not publicly addressed those claims.
Head coach Álvaro Arbeloa offered little reassurance.
"Unfortunately, it will not be just a few days. Kylian's absence will be a bit longer. It is difficult to say how long it will last, and I hope it will not drag on."
Mbappé remains central to Madrid’s ambitions. He has delivered 38 goals and six assists in 33 appearances this season. The team sit second in La Liga, four points behind Barcelona, after a shock defeat to Getafe.
His fitness also concerns Didier Deschamps, with the World Cup approaching this summer.
For Madrid, the timing could not be worse. For Mbappé, patience is running thin.
