Lionel Messi is set to select his all-time favorite goal for the first time in his career as part of a unique charity initiative organized by the Inter Miami CF Foundation in collaboration with world-renowned artist Refik Anadol.
The legendary Argentine forward will announce his chosen goal on May 22 at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. The selected moment will then be immortalized as a digital artwork by Anadol, merging football with cutting-edge art in a project that aims to benefit vulnerable children across Latin America and the Caribbean.
“Choosing just one goal out of them all is very difficult—each one is special in its own way,” Messi said. “But highlighting one as a favorite for the first time, to make this unique project possible, is worth it. There’s a strong purpose behind it, and I’m really happy to be part of it.”
The campaign, part of a broader collaboration between IMCFF and UNICEF, aims to improve access to quality education for children in five countries throughout the region. Proceeds from the project will go directly to these educational efforts.
The final signed artwork will be officially unveiled on June 11 at a special event in New York, hosted by prestigious auction house Christie’s, where it will be auctioned for charity.
