Lionel Messi kept celebrations simple but heartfelt, treating Antonela Roccuzzo to dinner and gifts while recovering from injury in Miami.
Lionel Messi showed his romantic side on Valentine’s Day by organising a quiet evening for his wife Antonela Roccuzzo, away from football and the spotlight.
Roccuzzo shared photos on Instagram from their dinner in Miami, along with chocolate-covered strawberries marked “LOVE”, a beach view and a giant teddy bear gifted by the Argentina captain.
The couple have known each other since childhood and married in Rosario in 2017. Nearly a decade later, their private life remains central despite global fame.
Messi often stresses he lives normally at home.
“Inside my house, I am a normal dad and husband. I discipline the kids and share time with my wife,” he once said.
Roccuzzo, now a recognised public figure and brand ambassador, also described their lifestyle built around routine and discipline.
“We eat healthy, don’t drink alcohol, and try to keep everything balanced,” she explained in an interview.
The moment comes while Messi recovers from injury after helping Inter Miami win the MLS Cup last season.
Attention also turns to the upcoming World Cup, where the 38-year-old has not yet confirmed participation.
“I hope I can be there, even if only to watch,” Messi said about the tournament.
For now, the focus remains on family life in Florida before the new MLS campaign begins.
