Michael Carrick praised Benjamin Šeško for creating a special Old Trafford moment after the Slovenian striker scored a stoppage-time winner against Fulham.
Michael Carrick could barely hide his emotion after Manchester United produced another Fergie-time moment at Old Trafford. A 3-2 win over Fulham, sealed by Benjamin Šeško in stoppage time, delivered a third consecutive Premier League victory.
The Slovenian striker, introduced from the bench, struck when tension filled the stadium. His goal sent the Theatre of Dreams into celebration and confirmed his growing influence under Carrick.
The United manager admitted he sensed something coming late on.
"I thought we were going to have a moment. It is hard to contain the emotions after a goal like that. Benjamin came on and created a very special moment for us," Carrick said.
The celebration mattered as much as the finish. Šeško sprinted toward the Stretford End, soaking in the roar.
"It was a big moment for him. To celebrate like that in front of the Stretford End, there is no better place to score a goal like that," Carrick added.
"You could see how much it meant. The players, the staff, the fans. Those are special moments," he continued.
Carrick also highlighted Šeško’s character during the match. The striker missed an earlier chance but stayed composed when it mattered most.
"We work a lot with Ben. He showed character. He missed one chance, stayed calm, and then finished fantastically," said Carrick.
"It was a very important goal with a lot of emotional weight. He will remember that one for a long time," he concluded.
Manchester United now turn attention to their next test. Tottenham visit Old Trafford on Saturday, February 7, with kick-off scheduled for 1:30 pm. Momentum is building, and belief is growing.
