New concerns have emerged for Arsenal as 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri, who had impressed in Bukayo Saka’s absence, is now sidelined due to injury.
Mikel Arteta and his squad are set to face Newcastle in the Premier League tomorrow night, but the London club has been hit with a series of injury problems. Nwaneri, who had been stepping up following the recent injury to Saka, is now ruled out for several weeks, according to Arteta. This leaves Arsenal with limited attacking options and raises the question of whether they will seek reinforcements in the transfer market.
With the upcoming clash against Newcastle, Arteta will only have Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli available in attack. It remains uncertain if Kai Havertz will feature, as he missed the last match against Brighton due to illness.
The Gunners will also be without Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Raheem Sterling, and Jurrien Timber, adding to Arteta’s growing list of absentees.
It’s worth noting that Newcastle were the last team to defeat Arsenal in the league. Since then, Arsenal have gone on a ten-match unbeaten run, currently sitting second in the table, six points behind leaders Liverpool. The Gunners are chasing their first league title since the 2003/04 season, when legendary coach Arsene Wenger guided them to an unbeaten campaign.
