Fans in Iranian Sepahan witnessed rockets being fired towards Israel by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard during an AFC Champions League match.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard launched around 180 ballistic missiles towards Israel yesterday as a retaliatory measure for Israeli military operations in Lebanon. The missile-filled sky caught the attention of spectators during the Asian Champions League 2 match (the Asian version of the Europa League - editor’s note) between Sepahan from Iran and Istiklol from Tajikistan.

Photos circulated online, showing how spectators looked up at the sky towards the missiles aimed at Israel.

Both Iranian and Israeli authorities confirmed the missile launches, though reports on the damage differ significantly – the Iranian Revolutionary Guard claims 90% of the missiles hit their targets, while Israel maintains that they intercepted most of the rockets.
