Aleksandar Mitrović scores again, helping Al Hilal secure a 5-0 victory over Al Shorta in the AFC Champions League, bringing his season total to 11 goals in 10 matches.
Aleksandar Mitrović continued his outstanding form for Al Hilal, contributing to a dominant 5-0 victory over Al Shorta in the second round of the AFC Champions League. The Serbian striker scored his 11th goal of the season with a powerful header in the 15th minute, shortly after Marcos Leandro opened the scoring for Al Hilal in the 11th minute.
Mitrović wasn’t done yet, as he provided an assist for the third goal, scored by Salem Al Dawsari in the 47th minute. This marked Mitrović's second assist of the season, adding to his impressive tally. Al Dawsari later scored again in the 73rd minute, and Mohammed Kanno completed the rout with a goal in injury time.
While Mitrović was the standout performer, his fellow Serbian international, Sergej Milinković-Savić, was substituted in the 67th minute after a less impressive display.
Al Hilal remains undefeated in the AFC Champions League, tied at the top of the Western Group standings with Al Ahli. In the Eastern Group, South Korea’s Gwangju holds the only perfect record. Next up for Mitrović and Al Hilal is a visit to Al Ain from the UAE.
