Luka Modrić made history by becoming Real Madrid’s oldest player at 39 years old and assisted in a crucial victory over Celta Vigo.

Luka Modrić has once again made history at Real Madrid, writing his name in the club's 122-year legacy.

In the 10th round of La Liga against Celta Vigo, Modrić came off the bench and became the oldest player to ever represent Real Madrid, at 39 years and 41 days old. He broke the previous record held by Ferenc Puskás and provided an assist for the winning goal in a tough away match.

After the final whistle, the Croatian captain spoke to reporters and gave a lighthearted response that made everyone laugh:

"I don't like it when you remind me of my age," Luka said with a wide smile before adding, "It's something impressive, and I'm proud of this record, and that I'm still playing for the best club in the world."

When asked to choose the best moment of his career at the Santiago Bernabéu, Modrić found it difficult to pick just one:

"It's really hard to choose just one; so many things have happened to me at Real. I've won the Champions League, La Liga, and now I'm the oldest player... I'm very proud of it all. I can't pick just one thing," concluded the Croatian captain.
